When?
We typically ship orders on Mondays and Tuesdays. During holiday rushes, we may also ship on Wednesdays. Meat orders usually arrive within 24–48 hours after shipping barring any weather delays out of our control. Non-perishable items (like beef sticks, hats, and other merch) may take longer, as they aren't shipped via expedited service unless requested.
Why?
Why does Rattlesnake only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays?
We ship orders every Monday and Tuesday to make sure your beef arrives safely and stays frozen. Our weekly cycle runs from Tuesday to the following Tuesday. This gives us time to gather orders, secure dry ice, and carefully pack each box for shipment.
Shipping early in the week also helps avoid weekend delays, so your perishable order isn’t stuck in a warehouse over the weekend.
If you place an order after the “order by” cutoff listed in the announcement bar, your order will ship the following Monday or Tuesday. For the most accurate shipping dates and deadlines, be sure to check the updated info in the announcement bar at the top of the page.
How is perishable meat packed & shipped?
Each meat order is packed in a specialized, made in the USA corrugated box. The box has a custom made in the USA 1.5 inch liner. The liner and box are completely recyclable. Rattlesnake does not use any Styrofoam products. The liner is made from cornstarch that can be safely washed down your drain or burned.
Each meat order is packed with dry ice.
Your meat should arrive frozen. We pack every box with enough dry ice to keep everything frozen during transit—even if there's an unexpected delay. It's normal for the dry ice to be gone by the time your box arrives, but your meat should still be frozen solid or at least cold to the touch.
When your order arrives, check the meat right away. As long as it's still below 40°F, it's safe to refrigerate or refreeze.
If anything seems off or you have concerns, just reach out—we’ll work to find a solution.
Where is the box?
Once your box leaves our facility in Pratt, Kansas, it’s in the hands of the UPS carrier. We do not have control over your package after it’s picked up. However, if your box is delivered to the wrong address, we’ll do our best to help resolve the issue.
All shipments include tracking information that updates as the box is scanned along the route. Sometimes those updates can be inconsistent or confusing—we get it. We've experienced it, too. That’s why we ask that you be prepared to receive your box once it’s on the way.
Orders typically ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, with some going out on Wednesdays if needed. Boxes may arrive as early as Tuesday, but most are delivered Wednesday through Friday, depending on the ship date, distance, and any carrier delays (like storms).
Every meat box is packed with dry ice to keep your order cold until it arrives.
IMPORTANT:
Please double-check your shipping address and zip code before placing your order. UPS will deliver your box to the address you provide—we can’t reroute it once it’s out the door.
We also can’t control where UPS places the box at your address (porch, gate, garage, etc.), but if you leave specific delivery instructions at checkout, we’ll include them on the outside of the box to help guide the driver.
Returns/Refunds
Refunds will be made on damaged or broken goods. It is important to advise us immediately of damaged and broken goods so a refund can be issued.
Meat is NOT able to be shipped back to us for a refund due to its perishable nature.

What if I bought bulk beef, but now don’t want it/need it/life circumstance?
We understand that circumstances can change but here’s how it works:
Deposits on bulk beef are nonrefundable.
However, your deposit does apply toward meat. For example, if you've paid a $300 deposit, we can ship you approximately $300 worth of meat from your order. If you've paid in full and have not yet received any meat, you will not receive a refund, but you have two options:
Find your own replacement buyer. You’re welcome to transfer your order to someone else.
Roll your order to a future presale, if available.
Please note: We do not have the capacity to store meat past your scheduled ship date.
Unfortunately, we raised and butchered this cow for you, but we are more than happy to work with you on a situation that works for you.
You will still keep any bonuses (if applicable) already received, even if you opt out of the full order.
Why UPS and Not Others?
Unfortunately, once a package leaves our hands, Rattlesnake doesn’t have control over how or when it's delivered.
We've found UPS to be the most cost-effective and reliable option for Rattlesnake overall, especially for shipping frozen and perishable items.
We've tested other carriers in the past, but the costs were significantly higher and the delivery issues were often just as frustrating, if not worse.
That said, Rattlesnake completely understands how inconvenient and confusing it is to receive conflicting delivery updates from UPS and other carriers.
