No, we don’t sell rattlesnakes or rattlesnake meat.
Our name comes from Rattlesnake Creek, which runs through our farm and ranch. Many of our pastures are located in the Rattlesnake Creek sub-basin of Kansas, a region covering 1,232 square miles of the Great Bend Prairie aquifer in south-central Kansas.

Most commercial beef is aged for up to 36 hours, others about a week, but we take it further. Aging enhances both tenderness and flavor, giving the beef a richer, more intense “beefy” taste. Our 21-day aged beef delivers a premium flavor and texture that you simply won’t find in a traditional grocery store.

Sustainability looks different for every farm and ranch, but at Rattlesnake Meat Company, it starts with healthy cattle and healthy land.
Rotational Grazing: Our cattle are moved through fields regularly—every 7 to 14 days on some summer pastures—to promote soil health, grass growth, and natural weed control. On other pastures, we manage stocking rates carefully to protect native grasses while allowing cattle to graze naturally.
Soil Enrichment: Soil Regeneration & Conservation: We are committed to a more regenerative approach that not only returns nitrogen and carbon to the soil but also enhances the land for future generations. By integrating thoughtful grazing practices with wildlife conservation efforts, we’re working to restore native grasses, improve soil health, and create a balanced ecosystem that benefits both our cattle and the environment.
Seasonal Management: Before calving season, cows transition to rye pastures to ensure proper nutrition and land health.
We believe in working with the land, not against it. Want to learn more? Follow us on social media and subscribe to our newsletter for updates on our practices and the beef you buy.

Your beef is homegrown, and we know everything about it—from birth to processing. Your cattle spend most of their lives grazing on native prairie grasses, then finish on a, hand-fed, carefully balanced diet of distiller’s grain, alfalfa, and Kansas corn for the last 90 days.
As we work toward a more regenerative approach to cattle management, our beef offers will be changing.

Your chicken is CLEAN. It’s pasture-raised. NO GMOs, NO soy. It’s what we DON’T put in your chicken that makes it premium. NO meds, NO vaccines. Raised on pastures that haven’t been sprayed.

Because it’s not the same product.
Grocery stores only care about margin. If meat hits their 2% profit target, it gets stocked—regardless of quality or origin.
We raise our own cattle with care, finishing them on high-quality feed for flavor, not speed.
Every beef cut is dry-aged for 21 days to boost tenderness and taste, even though it reduces yield.
USDA-inspected, small-scale processing with custom labeling, premium packaging, and cold-chain shipping.
Shipping costs are real. We use dry ice, USA-made liners, and trusted carriers to deliver frozen beef safely.
We're biting back at the Big Four, building a food system that values ranchers and customers—not corporate profit.

We recommend having 1 cubit foot of freezer space for every 35-40lbs. Allow slightly more if you have bigger cuts of meat like roasts, briskets, large steaks

The best answer? Enough. Or, on any given day, maybe not enough. Ranching is a balancing act—some days, it feels like we have too many to feed in the winter and not enough on shipping day.
We know this question often comes from simple curiosity, but for many farmers and ranchers, it feels a bit like asking, “How much money do you have in your bank account?” Some don’t mind sharing, while others prefer to keep that information private.
So, if you ask a cattleman, don’t be surprised if the answer is simply: “Enough.”
-
No! It is a very common misconception that Kansas is flat. Are there flat areas? Sure! Where we are located, we have gently rolling hills and amazing sunrises and sunsets.
No Rattlesnakes. Why the Name?
There are multiple reasons for our name…Here are the top three.
-
Don’t Tread On Me
We’re fed up with Big Agriculture and the meat packers squeezing out cattle producers and the vertical integration of the chicken companies. Rattlesnake Meat Company is our way of biting back.
Like it or not, four major packers control most of the U.S. meat supply—with the government’s heavy hand in the mix, too. We're here to change that.
Our mission? To go against the Four and give you access to reliable, safe, and private beef and clean chicken—straight from the ranch, no middlemen.
-
Rattlesnake Creek
We’re based in the Rattlesnake Creek Basin of Kansas, but the name means more than just a place.
Want to support independent ranchers? Looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience? Rattlesnake Meat Company delivers both—premium beef and chicken with a purpose.
-
John 3:14-18
“And Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up…”
Do you know where your beef or chicken comes from? How many places it’s been? What’s really in it?
You should. At Rattlesnake Meat Company, you know exactly what’s in—and what’s NOT in—your beef and chicken.
Premium quality you can trust, from people you can trust.
